As part of the centennial celebrations of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society, a conference entitled RSME Conference on Transfer and Industrial Mathematics will take place at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela from 12-14 July 2011.
The main aim of this conference is to present successful cases in the mathematical knowledge-transfer field to help establish successful collaborations between the academic-scientific world and the world of industry.
As the president of the organizing committee I invite you to participate in this conference, which in three days will present an outlook on industrial mathematics from both perspectives, through shared sessions between researchers and industry representatives, postgraduate experiences and discussions of mathematical knowledge-transfer infrastructures. In short, showing how the collaboration with industry has opened new lines of research in both the scientific world and the industrial sector.
We would also be very pleased to have the opportunity to introduce you to Santiago de Compostela, a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1985. We are certain you'll find Santiago a welcoming town with a wide variety of cultural and gastronomic offerings, as well as an excellent starting point from which to visit Galicia’s rich natural and cultural heritage.
